Born and raised in Vienna, Austria, Markus discovered his passion for hospitality and tourism by opening up a coffee shop in Southern Thailand in the late 80s. After a number of years he continued his travels and eventually moved back to Vienna. He rejoined the tourism industry as a Cruise Director and and Program Director for some of the top American river cruise companies. While leading river cruises, he has sailed the Rhine, Main, Mosel and Danube rivers for more then 15 years. No longer cruising, Markus has settled back down at home in Vienna and is looking forward to sharing his passion for this city and its wide range of cultural offerings with The Good Life Abroad community members.
