Alumni Experience in Lisbon
What’s it really like to spend a month living in Lisbon with The Good Life Abroad?
Everything about the trip was great! Portuguese people and those in our group were very friendly. Activities, lunches and happy hours were well planned. There were opportunities to build our community but also lots of time to explore on our own and with new friends from our group. Housing was very convenient to transit.
Perfect balance of free time vs. programmed time. Programmed lunches and happy hours were great for building relationships. Coordinator was very involved and personable. Tour guides were fun and knowledgeable. Accommodations were quality and well located.
It was fun but I would prefer about one less week
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent experience in Lisbon.
Great communication, activities, tours, and mix of scheduled and free time.
Our community manager, Jennifer, was great.
As a solo traveler for the first time, this was a great way to meet new people, be independent or be with a group.
Every aspect of TGLA services and organization have exceeded my expectations.
We've enjoyed our event very much
Great value for the money. Loved the whole experience
Great experience! It’s not for everyone, but if you are looking for a trip like this, it was beautifully done.
Good scheduled activities and options for add-ons
I had an incredible time! I came with the intent of seeing Portugal as part of my future, and I believe I have been a winner. Special admiration goes out to Jennifer for her time, patience, and understanding;it’s not easy to manage a group of individually minded, formally educated folks in a country they have never before seen and know nothing about.
Jen was a great leader, everything was organized. I loved my apartment and enjoyed all the other travelers along with the planned activities.
Good location for accommodations, a varied and interesting program of activities, a personable and efficient community manager, and an interesting city.
The experience was a good balance of personal time and group activities. Our city manager was phenomenal and kept us apprised of what was going on around our city even on weekends that were not her responsibility. Our tour guides were excellent and the group activities were very high quality with varied types of experiences.
Apartment selection. Balcony with view of construction workers close. Privacy? No towel racks or hooks. Street was near a restaurant and cluttered with debris and trash. Slow response from apartment manager~1 week to answer questions.
We had a wonderful trip! The program gave us plenty to do (and plenty of wonderful people to do it with), but we also had lots of opportunity to do things on our own. I have not a single complaint. We adored Jen, and she was always available to help out or make suggestions.
Had it not been for the accommodations and poor Blueground support, I would have rated the recommendation question a 7 or 8. The apartment had few of the basics (ex. Hooks for towels, kitchen strainer, sauté pan) and was cheaply furnished. The shower curtain fell down the first day (Monday) and Blueground replied they would come fix it on Friday. When pressed, they agreed to come Wednesday.
The apartment and the apartment management company were not satisfactory.
