Alex V.
Alexandra was born in South Africa to a French mother and British father. She studied Fine Art, majoring in ceramics. For the past three years she has been working across Europe, travelling for work and pleasure, all whilst calling Paris home. After graduation, she began her career in art dealing and became an art gallery manager on cruise ships, based in Miami. This allowed her to combine her two loves: art and traveling. Once Covid happened, her life changed, and she moved back to Paris permanently where she has been working in tourism since. She enjoys sharing the Parisian lifestyle with her community members.

Firstly spending a month in Paris was unreal. What really made it possible was our facilitator Alex and our group. We had our group activities (lunches, happy hours, tours or classes) but we also had plenty of time to explore on our own. We also were able to connect with others in our group for day trips, meals, music venues. It was a wonderful mix. We also could return to our apartment to rest and plans our next adventure. The 30 days pasted so quickly. Can’t wait to plan our next trip.

We would have preferred to be in the same building or area as others in our group of 18. Also 18 seemed a bit too large a group for some of the cafes/ bars that we were in. Very crowded. Stuck behind a long table so it was difficult to get up to got to toilet. I did not like joining with the group of 5 that was the group before us. It made spaces even more crowded and we got sat twice with them. This kept us from getting to know our group members at the start of our time there We would not go again in June as our apartment was very hot as temperatures got into the 80s. Also the duvet on the bed was too warm for 70-80 degrees. A single top sheet available would have been very nice to use and much more comfortable. The last two days, we had no hot water and told Blueground. No response. The Farewell dinner was way across town at 7pm The traffic was so bad that we paid $46 for a taxi and others complained about the extremely crowded metro. Maybe better as a lunch and closer to where the members were located. The best activity was the pastry class. .

TGLA made it easy for us to stay 30d with an apartment, conveniently located. We also had an amazing guide, Alex, who was helpful, knowledgeable and informative about all things Paris.

Table arrangements that had one side in a bench seat along the wall of 8 people at the get togethers did not allow for mixing and limited conversations to either those beside or across from you.

Paris is a wonderful and liberating city. To be here and part of an organized travel program is hard to beat. The community manager was fabulous and treated all of us with such grace, happiness, charm and excitement. This was such a great touch. I felt like TGLA seriously cared about our success and happiness in this adventure. TGLA i believe is a wonderful traveling structure for solo travelers to enjoy a European city and or experience a bucket list adventure.
