Alumni Experience in Paris
What’s it really like to spend a month living in Paris with The Good Life Abroad?
Our lovely air conditioned apartment was located in Marais. The group activities were well planned and so enjoyable. Alex did a great job coordinating each event and communicating everything we needed to know.
I’ve already spoken to friends (in different states than my own)who have passed on information I have given them to their friends. Everyone is very excited about this experience you have created.
Perfect match of support and independence.
Firstly spending a month in Paris was unreal. What really made it possible was our facilitator Alex and our group. We had our group activities (lunches, happy hours, tours or classes) but we also had plenty of time to explore on our own. We also were able to connect with others in our group for day trips, meals, music venues. It was a wonderful mix. We also could return to our apartment to rest and plans our next adventure. The 30 days pasted so quickly. Can’t wait to plan our next trip.
We would have preferred to be in the same building or area as others in our group of 18. Also 18 seemed a bit too large a group for some of the cafes/ bars that we were in. Very crowded. Stuck behind a long table so it was difficult to get up to got to toilet.
I did not like joining with the group of 5 that was the group before us. It made spaces even more crowded and we got sat twice with them. This kept us from getting to know our group members at the start of our time there
We would not go again in June as our apartment was very hot as temperatures got into the 80s. Also the duvet on the bed was too warm for 70-80 degrees. A single top sheet available would have been very nice to use and much more comfortable. The last two days, we had no hot water and told Blueground. No response. The Farewell dinner was way across town at 7pm The traffic was so bad that we paid $46 for a taxi and others complained about the extremely crowded metro. Maybe better as a lunch and closer to where the members were located.
The best activity was the pastry class.
.
Wonderful trip and Alex, our director, was outstanding!
Perfect balance of “ hand holding” and independent activities
The program was excellent. Alex did a great job organizing the activities, giving advice for time on our own, providing directions and tips, and providing support for any issues that arose. I would not hesitate to recommend the program to anyone. We had a wonderful time!
It was a great experience that I'm sure our friends would also enjoy, whether in Paris or elsewhere.
The combination of gathering with a group for meals and experiences and having lots of personal time to explore on our own was perfect.
Housing was a little complicated
Table arrangements that had one side in a bench seat along the wall of 8 people at the get togethers did not allow for mixing and limited conversations to either those beside or across from you.
TGLA made it easy for us to stay 30d with an apartment, conveniently located. We also had an amazing guide, Alex, who was helpful, knowledgeable and informative about all things Paris.
GLA offered and delivered a good balance of 'hand holding' and individual independence
Alex was a wonderful director in a the beautiful city of Paris.
Great organization of activities.
It’s a lovely experience and nice to know you have someone local to back you up and help you out if needed.
It was great to have a furnished apartment rented for us in a desirable location. We very much enjoyed the three get-togethers per week and most of all our host/coordinator. Alex was fabulous.
I just love everything about the program as it suits my needs to a T
Wonderful experience like none other that we’ve had!!!
We did the trip to Paris in the spring of 2025. We felt far removed from others in our group and from a convenient French residential neighborhood.
Well organized experience with enjoyable events.
Loved every aspect of the experience.
I like your program concept. The reality lived up to the concept.
Paris is a wonderful and liberating city. To be here and part of an organized travel program is hard to beat. The community manager was fabulous and treated all of us with such grace, happiness, charm and excitement. This was such a great touch. I felt like TGLA seriously cared about our success and happiness in this adventure. TGLA i believe is a wonderful traveling structure for solo travelers to enjoy a European city and or experience a bucket list adventure.
You are good!
I think it is a great program- very nice to have a community of people here.
