Mateo & Stefanie
Mateo and Stefanie are your Community Managers in Split. They are a Croatian-American couple who have lived in both the United States and Croatia. Mateo was born in Split, but attended University of Southern California, where he met his Croatian-American wife. Together, they curate the best local events and hidden experiences known only to insiders, offering you exclusive access to the very best of Split. All scheduled community activities, meals, and social gatherings are included in the program fee. Community Managers are available to support you via text during business hours on weekdays, and are present at all community events.

Late spring and early fall are ideal, with warm weather and fewer crowds. The shoulder seasons also offer better prices and access to outdoor activities.
The old town is mostly pedestrianized, making walking the best way to explore. Buses and taxis are available for longer trips, such as to Marjan Hill or nearby beaches.

This was an excellent program from making 9 new friends including Stephanie and Mateo to truly feeling like a local. Stephanie and Mateo were very helpful in giving us options for side trips but they had also planned a comprehensive schedule for our group maximizing local culture. It’s such a marvelous idea and it seems that it’s still quite unique in the travel world. I really hate travel hopping and I love the connections you get with a prolonged stay in one place.
