Article Overview:

A Solo Journey with Built-In Community

Solo travel can be life-changing. It’s a bold decision—especially for those of us in our 50s, 60s, or beyond—to step outside our daily routines and say yes to adventure. But going it alone doesn’t mean being alone. In fact, solo travel often brings about the most meaningful connections—with others and with yourself.

The Good Life Abroad’s Solo Traveler Session in Prague is thoughtfully designed for individuals who crave both independence and community. You’ll have your own space, your own schedule, and your own rhythm. But you’ll also have a local host, like-minded travelers nearby, and group experiences that make it easy to feel at home in a foreign place.

Join us in the heart of Europe for a month that’s equal parts personal growth and shared joy.

Why Prague is Perfect for Independent Adventurers

With its cobbled lanes, pastel architecture, and rich cultural scene, Prague is one of Europe’s most beloved cities—and an ideal destination for solo travel. It’s compact and highly walkable, making it easy to explore on your own terms. The city’s neighborhoods blend Old World charm with modern ease, offering cozy cafés, historic courtyards, world-class museums, and more—all easily accessible by foot or tram.

Whether you prefer to spend your morning in a quiet bookshop, join a neighborly stroll across the Charles Bridge, or attend a pop-up jazz concert, Prague rewards curiosity without overwhelming the senses. It’s a place where you can move at your own pace—and still feel connected.

Your Home in the Heart of the City

New Town—Prague’s vibrant and accessible east side—is your neighborhood for the month. While just minutes from the famous Wenceslas Square and the city’s main cultural attractions, it also offers quiet courtyards, local markets, and peaceful riverside paths.

Your apartment will be a sanctuary. With modern comforts like a washing machine, Wi-Fi, kitchen, and elevator access, you’ll have everything you need to settle in. And with other solo travelers in the same building, you’ll enjoy those serendipitous hallway chats and group plans that naturally arise.

Most residents find a beautiful balance: morning routines at home, outings in the afternoon, and spontaneous dinners with neighbors who feel like old friends by week two.

Community Without Compromise

Our Solo Traveler Session isn’t about forced togetherness—it’s about intentional opportunities to connect. You'll be invited to join curated group experiences: morning walks, museum visits, wine tastings, local concerts, and more. These events are optional, relaxed, and designed with solo travelers in mind—no pressure, just good company.

Your Community Manager is there to support you throughout, helping you get oriented, introducing you to the group, and organizing low-key events that foster camaraderie without expectation. It’s the best of both worlds: freedom when you want it, friendship when you need it.

Meet Your Host: Katerina Novakova

Katerina has spent her life walking the streets of Prague—with guests, friends, and family—and knows how to help others fall in love with the city. With a background in tourism and a gift for bringing people together, she’s the heartbeat of your stay.

She’ll lead weekly check-ins, offer tailored suggestions based on your interests, and even help coordinate small-group excursions. Whether you want to learn Czech phrases, avoid tourist traps, or discover a rooftop with the best view in town—Katerina’s got you covered.

What to Expect During Your Stay

Over your four weeks in Prague, you’ll find a rhythm that fits your style. Maybe you’ll wake early for a solo walk along the Vltava River, spend midday visiting a museum, then join the group for a jazz night or market visit. Or maybe you’ll lean into cozy days at home with books and neighborhood cafés, punctuated by shared dinners and gallery outings.

Here’s a sample of what we might plan together:

  • Welcome dinner at a local wine bar
  • Guided walk through the Castle District
  • Afternoon coffee and language basics workshop
  • Cooking class featuring traditional Czech recipes
  • Optional day trip to Kutná Hora or Karlovy Vary

Each activity is optional, designed for ease and fun—not obligation. We prioritize accessibility, rest, and discovery at your own pace.
