Forbes Highlights The Good Life Abroad’s Local-style Travel Experience

Published: August 2nd, 2025

Forbes Spotlights Our “Live Like a Local” Approach

We’re thrilled to share that The Good Life Abroad has been featured in Forbes by travel journalist Irene S. Levine. In her August 1, 2025 article, Travel Like A Local, Not A Tourist: The Good Life Abroad Makes It Easy, Levine explores how our unique travel programs bridge the gap between guided tours and independent exploration.

The Forbes piece captures what makes our experiences stand out: longer stays in vibrant European cities, curated cultural activities, and the freedom to explore at your own pace—all supported by a dedicated community manager. This approach ensures travelers don’t just see the sights—they become part of the rhythm of daily life in each destination.

Recognition for Our Mission

Being recognized by a publication like Forbes is more than just a proud moment—it’s validation of our mission to make immersive, culturally rich travel accessible for older adults seeking authentic experiences.

Founded by Andrew Motiwalla, The Good Life Abroad was created for travelers who want more than a quick trip. Our participants live in hand-selected apartments, enjoy insider access to local events, and build friendships with like-minded travelers.

This coverage not only showcases our programs to a wider audience but also affirms the growing demand for travel that prioritizes depth over speed. We’re excited to continue expanding our locations and creating opportunities for seniors to live—and travel—abroad in a way that feels truly local.
