In this special webinar, Andrew Motiwalla, founder of The Good Life Abroad, is joined by Prague Community Manager Katarina Novakova and Program Director Mike Veta to explore what makes a month-long stay in Prague so rewarding.
From medieval architecture and cobblestone streets to cozy cafés and community-centered living, this session covers what it truly means to live like a local in one of Europe’s most enchanting cities.
What Makes Prague So Special
Andrew opens the session by describing Prague as one of the most visually striking cities in the world—and our guests tend to agree. With its mix of gothic, baroque, and Art Nouveau buildings, Prague has a fairytale-like quality that’s hard to match. Katarina, a native of the city, adds that it’s not just about beauty; it’s also the balance of history, modern amenities, and cultural vibrancy that makes Prague an ideal place to stay longer.
An Immersive, Local-Living Experience
In Prague, participants stay in modern, air-conditioned apartments located in the New Town—a neighborhood that dates back to the 1300s but offers all the conveniences needed for extended stays. All apartments are in the same building, complete with elevator access, a communal laundry room, and proximity to public transit, grocery stores, gyms, and cafés.
Community Manager Katarina gives every new cohort a guided orientation walk to help them find their footing and immediately feel at home. Within 24 hours, guests know where to grab groceries, find the best coffee, or catch a tram.
Curated Events with a Local Touch
Each week follows a rhythm:
- Tuesdays: Lunch Club featuring local cuisine in diverse neighborhoods
- Wednesdays: Cultural outings or cooking classes
- Thursdays: Group happy hour at a favorite spot
These events offer more than just entertainment—they’re thoughtfully designed to introduce guests to Prague’s rich culture, regional foods, and off-the-beaten-path areas. Katarina even includes a foodie-friendly brunch and neighborhood walk in one of Prague’s up-and-coming districts.
Community That Grows with You
With an average group size of 10–20 travelers, each cohort becomes its own close-knit community. A pre-departure Zoom call helps everyone get acquainted, and once on-site, a WhatsApp group makes it easy to plan impromptu activities. Whether you’re traveling solo or with a partner, there’s always someone to connect with—be it for an art exhibit, weekend trip to Vienna, or late-night jazz show.
Built for Independent, Passionate Travelers
This program isn’t for those looking for a pre-packaged group tour. It’s designed for curious, independent travelers—especially those 55+—who want more than just surface-level sightseeing. It’s ideal if you’re ready to walk a few miles a day, navigate public transit, and open yourself up to new people, cultures, and experiences.
